Friday 13th November- Environmental Health thumbs up at Holywell
Friday the 13th proved to a good day at the Holywell as Environmental Health officers visited our bottling plant. Following a 2 hour inspection of the process, which also included insight to the HACCP and traceability records, our local health office declared us a 5 star establishment- the highest accolade available. Holywell Director Mike Humm said “We are delighted with the inspection result as we have worked closely with the Department for Environmental Health for some time as the project has evolved to ensure the highest standard possible. This is exactly what we have achieved.” Production Manager Anthony Arnold continued “We are very proud of the “positive release” system that we have implemented- this is not a requisite of The Department, but shows our commitment to excellence in our production environment and in our finished product.”
15th September 2009- the first delivery into Purnells
Holywell Springwater can now be seen on the tables at the Michelin starred, critically acclaimed restaurant Purnells, Birmingham. Maitre-de Jean- Benoit was delighted to offer his guests, who invariably have to book weeks- sometimes months in advance, such a unique and prestigious enhancement to their dining experience. 14th September 2009- Cotswold Life Award Ceremony
Holywell Spring Water was on the menu at the prestigious Cotswold Life Food and Drink Awards 2009, held at the Cotswold Water Park Four Pillars Hotel in South Cerney. Two hundred and fifty guests attended a champagne reception and three course Black Tie event. The Awards included Chef of the Year, restaurant of the Year and Food Personality of the Year. Needless to say not everybody had a tipple as every bottle of Still and Sparkling Holywell Spring Water had been consumed by the end of the evening!
1st August 2009 – Holywell feature in Worcestershire Life
Holywell Spring Water was the subject of a three-page spread in the August edition of glossy county magazine, Worcestershire Life. The feature delved into the history of the Holy Well and explained the provenance of the water as well as detailing our hopes for the future of the Well and its water. 27th July 2009 Birmingham Post feature
Holywell Spring Water received a fantastic write-up in the Birmingham Post as the Friday night main feature on 24th July. Food critic, Richard McComb, took a special interest in the combination of locally produced spring water, the rejuvenation of an ancient spring and the father-and-son business venture. 20th July 2009- Living History- the first production begins!!!
A new thread in the rich tapestry of the Holywell Spring was woven on the 20th July 2009 as bottling rolled into life. 150 bottles of Still and Sparkling Holywell Spring Water were produced: these will be available to purchase in early August in numbered early edition packs. 1st July 2009 New Production Manager starts at Holywell
Anthony Arnold is the latest member of the Holywell team, serving as production manager with responsibility for the production runs, saftey and maintenance of the site. Anthony has experience in food and beverage environments, coupled with some useful years spent in the “just in time” automotive industry, all of which bodes well for an efficient operation.
